Floating Systems

WE focus on the structural integrity management (SIM) of floating facilities including FPSOs, TLPs, Spars and FPS (Semis). We develop advanced risk based inspection (RBI) plans to maintain the long term integrity of these critical facilities. Our full scope approach includes plan development, inspection work-packs, execution oversight, results review, anomaly resolution, repair design and forward planning.

RBI Program Development

Energo has a formal process for developing hull and mooring RBI programs for offshore floating facilities, which has been accepted by Class societies and flag state authorities.   The process incorporates  both qualitative risk techniques and quantitative reliability methodologies to produce a forward looking dynamic program to manage the structural integrity of offshore facility.  When completed, the programs provide the necessary guidance to the offshore integrity manager to implement, execute and evaluate the inspection and monitoring activities and results.  These programs have been implemented in the field on six facilities operating in West Africa and Brazil and we are currently developing RBI program for several other offshore facilities.   In addition to the RBI program development, Energo is also active in other industry integrity management initiatives.  Some of these activities include the development of structural reliability tools and training,  the deployment of RBI guidance documents and recommended practices as well as participation as principal investigators in structural integrity joint industry projects (JIP), such as the "FPSO Structural Performance JIP" and the "Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit Mooring Reliability JIP".

Inspection Work Pack Development and Guidance

Energo works with offshore operators to developed detailed guidance to 3rd party inspection contractors for the on-site execution and documentation of structural inspections.   The work packs provide clear guidance on the locations and inspection types (e.g., GVI, CVI, NDE, etc.), accounting for the facilities access constraints and features as well as regional logistics.   Energo also provides on-site engineering support during offshore inspections to operators, ensuring continuous review and rapid response to findings.

Anomaly Resolution and Repair Design

Energo provides offshore operators with expertise and engineering services for the evaluation of structural anomalies (e.g., cracks, wastage structure, etc.) and development of structural mitigation plans.  Energo uses strength and fatigue finite element analyses (FEA) and other state-of-the-art techniques, such fracture mechanics, to determine the need, extent and method of repairs.  If repairs are necessary, Energo works directly with the operators to ensure the most effective repair designs, always being cognizant of the access and handling constraints and costs of on-site repairs.
